September 30, Fineko/abc.az. In August 2022, Turkey sent goods for $949 million to Russia.

ABC.AZ reports that this is 2.1-fold more than in August 2021 ($451 million), and 27% more than in the previous month ($729 million).

At the beginning of the summer, there was a sharp increase in supplies from Turkey to Russia. In June, exports totaled $790 million, which is the highest figure for the month since at least 2010.

Experts explained this by Western sanctions against Russia, which forced Russia to look for alternative suppliers to replace countries recognized as “unfriendly".
