Inflation in Turkey has reached highest level in last 24 years

October 3, Fineko/abc.az. The annual inflation in Turkey was less than expected, but still reached a new high in 24 years in September.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Daily Sabah that according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the consumer price index (CPI) last month (the last time this level was observed in mid-1998) increased by 83.45% in annual terms.

The annual inflation in August was 80.2%.

Compared with Reuters Expert Research’s forecast by 3.8%, consumer prices rose by 3.08% per month. The annual consumer price inflation is projected at 84.63%.
