November 21, Fineko/abc.az. International standard ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems), developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is a tool that helps enterprises and other organizations in determining environmental impacts, assessing and minimizing measurements of these impacts.

The bank applies international best practices in its activity, and obtaining this international certificate will contribute to environmental protection, as well as to improving the work in this sphere.

The main purpose of building an environmental management system is to take into account the environmental impact at each stage - from the first stage of the banking product to its introduction to the consumer. Becoming the first bank in Azerbaijan, which successfully fulfilled the requirements of the ISO 14001 certificate, Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan demonstrates efforts to preserve our country’s natural resources for future generations.

With this action, the bank supports at the 26th Conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change the goal of Azerbaijan to achieve by 2050 as an additional voluntary commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 40 percent and create a “zero emissions” zone in the territories liberated from occupation.

Being the first bank in Azerbaijan that received certificate ISO 14001:2015, among our main goals is to further improve our environmental performance, as well as to stimulate the fight against climate change and minimize our environmental impact.
