July 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called on foreign companies to participate more actively as investors.

In his speech delivered at the Azerbaijani-Italian Business Forum today he stated that favorable business environment has been created in Azerbaijan, and foreign investments in the country are protected by law.

"We’ve already established successful cooperation with Italian companies, which were contractors in a number of industrial enterprises. I think we should expand this cooperation. I’m sure Italian companies will take an active part in the future projects on the development of industrial sector in Azerbaijan, including as investors, contractors," President Aliyev emphasized.

Country’s leader stressed that Italian companies acted as contractors and sub-contractors in projects in Azerbaijan in such areas as construction, heavy industry, agriculture, processing.

"I believe we have opportunities to broaden this cooperation and two countries’ business circles will hold discussions in this direction," President Aliyev added.
