July 30, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun of the year 1.325 million foreign citizens from 189 countries visited Azerbaijan.

The review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications shows that foreign citizens who visited Azerbaijan in the 1st half of 2018 carried out transactions through bank cards for AZN 620.4 million.

Volume of operations through bank cards for the reported period increased by 22.3% compared to the 2017 same term.

In June of the year volume of transactions by bank cards by foreign citizens amounted to AZN 106.7 million that is by 27.3% more than in June 2017.

Out of the foreign citizens who visited Azerbaijan in the 1st half of the year, the rate of tourists from Russia made up 30.5%, Georgia 21.1%, Iran 11.1%, Turkey 10.8%, and UAE 3.6%.

The tourist flow to Azerbaijan from the CIS countries totaled 478,000 people and from the EU countries 53,500 people.
