12:42 - 24.08.2018

August 24, Fineko/abc.az. The Expert Council on the implementation of the Caspian Sea Legal Status Convention may be established in October of the year.

The statement was made at the recently-held Moscow roundtable on the results of the Caspian summit and the prospects of regional development by Ramazan Abdulatipov, Russian President’s special representative on issues of humanitarian & economic cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region.

"As special envoy, within the period of my work I am going to strengthen the Expert Council from angle of monitoring of implementation of the Convention, its ratification and fastening of this matter. It would be expedient to gather the MPs of the Caspian States and raise the matter of the establishment of the Caspian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. We have very good experts with whom we work — it is necessary to direct their attention to the Convention and its ratification. I think the Council can be established in September or October," Abdulatipov said.
