About 165,800 first-graders to go to school in Azerbaijan in new academic year

September 10, Fineko/abc.az. The number of first-graders will exceed 165,000 in Azerbaijan in academic year 2018/19.

"It is predicted that in the new academic year the total number of pupils in Azerbaijan will reach 1,592,317 people, of whom 165,780 ones will go to the first class," the Ministry of Education informs.

According to the Ministry, 34 new schools are currently under construction in various districts of the country, and another 22 schools are undergoing capital repairs.

"This year 137 educational institutions of module type will be put into operation in the country," the Ministry said in a statement.
