Azerbaijan and Russia discussed a possibility of price cuts for international roaming

November 27, Fineko/abc.az. Minister of Digital Development, Communications & Mass Media Konstantin Noskov of Russia held a working meeting with Minister of Transport, Communications & High Technologies Ramin Guluzade of Azerbaijan.

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications & Mass Media informs that the ministers discussed Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation in the field of ICT, postal & telecommunications services.

"During negotiations Noskov and Guluzade covered the questions of cooperation in the field of information security. The parties also discussed the possibility of reducing prices for international roaming, the conclusion of an agreement on cooperation in the field of international postal communication between Russia’s national postal operator Russian Post (Pochta Rossii) and Azerbaijan’s post company Azerpocht touched upon the matters of IT education, development of smart cities, cellular communication quality control. The Russian side spoke about the procedure of charging for the use of the radio frequency spectrum, the reform of the universal communication service, which has been implemented in Russia since 2014 within the framework of the program on elimination of digital inequality," it was reported.

The Azerbaijani side expressed interest in development of bilateral industrial cooperation, including cooperation with Russian companies and handed over an official invitation for participation in the 24th Azerbaijan international exhibition & conference "Telecommunications, Innovations & High Technologies" (BakuTel-2018) to be held in Baku in December 2018.

The meeting was attended by deputy heads of the Ministry of Communications of Russia Oleg Voitenko and Oleg Ivanov, Azerbaijani Ambassador Polad Bulbul-oglu to Russia, reps of the Federal Communications Agency, Roskomnadzor, Scientific Research Institute ‘Radio’, state institution MosTransProekt, federal state unitary enterprise ‘Main Radio Frequency Centre’, Pochta Rossii, Moscow Technical University of Communications & Informatics (MTUCI), Skolkovo Fund, companies Group IB, DMTEL-Service, Inoventika Technologies, MegaFon, Polimedia, Smart-Soft, TransTeleCom, which talked about their future developments and programmes.
