Central Bank’s currency reserves grew by 5.4% in 2018 versus rise of 34.2% in 2017

January 10, Fineko/abc.az. Foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) increased by $31.6 million in December 2018 (+0.6% versus November).

According to the CBA, as of 1 January 2019 currency reserves totaled $5.6 bn compared to $5.59 bn on 1 December, $5.536 bn on 1 November, $5.534 bn on 1 October, $5.503 bn on 1 September, and $5.546 bn on 1 August of 2018.

"On 1 July CBA currency reserves amounted to $5.512 bn, on 1 June $5.47 bn, on 1 May $5.465 bn, on 1 April $5.508 bn, on 1 March $5.387 bn, on 1 February $5.38 bn and on 1 January $5.334 bn," the CBA said.

Thus, CBA's foreign currency reserves increased by 5.4% in 2018 and by 34.2% in 2017.
