Fine for several billion dollars endangers to Facebook for user data transfer

February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The amount of the fine that the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) can collect from the social network is likely to exceed several billion dollars.

The FTC is investigating in respect to Facebook in connection with transfer of personal data of users to a third-party company for marketing purposes.

The statement was made by The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the details of Facebook-FTC negotiations.

Facebook confirmed the fact of holding negotiations with the FTC, but did not provide any additional information about their progress. The FCT, in turn, declined to comment on the case.
