CIS Statistical Committee: Azerbaijan numbers 20,000 unemployed persons

February 15, Fineko/abc.az. The countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States numbered 1,365,100 unemployed persons at the end of December 2018 that is by 20,000 more compared to the previous month.

The CIS Interstate Statistical Committee reports that this figure is less than a year ago.

"In Belarus the figure of unemployed is minimal – 12,500 people. The indicators of Moldova are slightly higher (18,700) and Azerbaijan (20,100). Within 100,000 is the number of the unemployed in Tajikistan (51,800), Armenia (64,600), Kyrgyzstan (70,900), Kazakhstan (91,600). Ukraine is numbering 341,700 and Russia 693,200 unemployed persons.

During the year the rate of unemployed persons increased in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and slightly in Tajikistan. In other countries their rate has reduced. In general, unemployment fell by 6.6% on the CIS area," the Committee informed.

Besides, in the last month the total unemployment increased by 1.5% due to its growth in Ukraine, Tajikistan, Russia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan. At the end of November 2018 a total of 1.345 million people were unemployed on the CIS area.

The registered unemployment rate for 2018 made up 0.3% in Belarus, 0.4% in Azerbaijan, 0.9% in Russia, 1% in Kazakhstan, 1.3% in Moldova, 2.2% in Tajikistan and 2.8% in Kyrgyzstan. There are no data on Armenia and Ukraine.
