11:30 - 27.05.2019

May 27, Fineko/abc.az. Kaspersky Lab analyzed which websites were visited by Azerbaijani children in the first 4 months of 2019 and found out that multimedia entertainment caused the highest interest among them.

According to anonymized statistics of the company, they accounted for almost half of all visited resources — 44%. The second most common on visits were the means of Internet communication, their share made up 31%. Websites with computer games rank the third place, but their share is much lower - only 6%.

Other types of resources received much less attention from the underage residents of Azerbaijan. Thus, news sites for January-April 2019 accounted for about 5% of Internet activity, online stores - 4%, resources with age-inappropriate content (gambling, alcohol, weapons, drugs, violence, etc.) recorded less than 1% of attempts to enter, pornographic slightly more - 2%.

As for the search queries of children on the CIS area over the past 12 months, that is, from May 2018 to May 2019, the most searched among the social networks in Russian were Vkontakte, Instagram, Skype and in English - Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. In the field of multimedia, YouTube remains the absolute leader of children's search queries (both in Russian and in English), and Spotify and Netflix are also in demand. From movies and TV series often appeared in the search bar "Game of Thrones", "Avengers: the War of Infinity", "It", "Riverdale", and from cartoons - "Smeshariki", "Gravity Falls" and "How to Train a Dragon 3". From music requests in English, one of the leaders was singer Billie Eilish. These search queries on trading platforms suggest that the students most actively were looking for AliExpress, Avito, Ozon, Yule, and in English also Amazon and eBay. The most popular games are Minecraft, Tanks Online, Roblox and Fortnite.

"We see that games and social networks are actively moving to mobile platforms. Chinese communication service TikTok is gaining popularity, which allows you to create short videos with various effects to popular music, as well as synchronize the movement of the lips with music. Children increasingly prefer to communicate online not from computers, but from mobile devices, so as not to limit virtual conversations to time spent at home. But watching movies and listening to music is more convenient for them on desktop computers, probably because of the better resolution and larger screen size," says Konstantin Ignatiev, head of the Content Analysis Office at Kaspersky Lab.
