June 20, Fineko/abc.az. "We issue government bonds covering different periods. This is also an important issue, as it is a tool that determines the value of money in Azerbaijan," Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said in an interview for AzTv program Günün Nəbzi (Pulse of the Day).

The minister stressed that two weeks ago the demand for bonds issued by the Ministry of Finance increased by 5 times, thus the interest rate of two-year bonds was determined at 7%.

"At the next auction on government bonds held at the Baku Stock Exchange, the interest rate of annual bonds fell to 6.2%. I believe this is quite a positive phenomenon. It shows that although there is money supply, its interest rates continue to decline gradually. We regard this as a positive factor," the minister emphasized.
