Azerbaijan-Iran trade turnover grew 2.3-fold for first 5 months of 2019

July 4, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev has met with representatives of the Iranian Parliament.

During the meeting the minister stated that bilateral trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran increased by 2.3 times for Jan-May 2019 against the 2018 same term.

"Last year the growth of trade turnover between our countries made up 75% and for Jan-May of the current year it has grown 2.3-fold. Trade between both states is increasing, mutual investment cooperation joint projects are underway," Mustafayev emphasized.

He pointed out that Iran's total investments in Azerbaijan’s economy is estimated at $3.4 bn.

The Azerbaijani minister also told about the favorable business and investment climate created in his country and invited Iranian businessmen to take advantage of those opportunities.

Mustafayev stressed that there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, trade, small and medium-sized businesses, ICT, environment and the humanitarian sector.
