July 18, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-June 2019 the insurance companies of Azerbaijan collected premiums for AZN 361.336 million and compensated for AZN 119.1 million.

The Financial Market Supervision Authority (FIMSA) informs that premiums on voluntary insurance totaled AZN 241.79 million and compensation payments AZN 83.268 million, while premiums on compulsory insurance amounted to AZN 119.5 million and payments AZN 35.8 million.

"66.9% of premiums accounted for voluntary and 33.1% for compulsory insurance, while 69.9% for compensation payments on voluntary and 30.1% on compulsory insurance," FIMSA said in a statement.

Azerbaijan numbered 22 insurance companies as of early July 2019.
