July 23, Finego/abc.az. Switzerland-based Socar's subsidiary SOCAR Energy Holdings reports that the first filling station with SOCAR brand has been put into operation in Austria.

SOCAR Energy Holdings’ head Edgar Bakhmann stated that SOCAR, which entered the Swiss market in 2012, rapidly developed as one of the leading energy companies in this country. At the moment, Socar Energy they are going to apply this experience in Austria as well.

In 2017, SOCAR Energy Holdings entered the Austrian retail fuel market and bought petrol stations owned by A1 and Pronto Oil, which operates in the field of oil trade. The SOCAR brand will gradually replace the A1 logo in the next few years.

A1, occupying the leading role in the fuel market of the Austrian state of Styria, is running 82 petrol stations throughout the country. This company has 150 employees. Along with A1, SOCAR also acquired Pronto Oil Mineralalhandels GmbH, a trading company based in Graz. SOCAR Energy Austria LLC was established to manage the network of A1 and Pronto Oil Mineralalhandels GmbH. Employees of the network A1 and Pronto Oil Mineralalhandels GmbH “have been kept in the network and continue their work within SOCAR Energy Austria LLC”.
