In September OPEC oil production fell by 1.3 million barrels

October 11, Fineko/abc.az. The daily production of crude oil by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) decreased in September, the OPEC’s monthly report says.

OPEC oil production declined by 1.318 million barrels last month (versus September 2018) to 28.49 million bpd. OPEC’s share in world oil production made up 29.3%.

Last month, the OPEC member countries increased oil production most of all in Libya, Angola and Congo. In particular, the daily production in Libya grew by 104,000 barrels up to 1.164 million, in Angola the production exceeded 24,000 barrels and reached 1.411 million, and in Congo rose up to 335,000 bpd with rise of 14,000 barrels).

In September cartel’s oil production fell most of all in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Iraq. The daily production of Saudi Arabia dropped by 8.56 million barrels to 1.28 million barrels, in Venezuela by 82,000 barrels to 724,000 bpd, and in Iraq by 60,000 barrels to 4.724 million bpd.

Last month, 63 drilling rigs were launched in the world, and as a whole, 2,299 rigs. Of them, 585 rigs are in OPEC member countries.
