Cars to become cheaper in Azerbaijan – Cabinet`s new decision

February 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Cabinet Ministers of Azerbaijan has commented on its decision amending to the “Nomenclature of foreign economic activity goods, import and export customs duty rates”.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Cabinet Ministers’ press service that the decision was prepared in order to exempt from customs duties on the import of spare parts used in the production process for the industrial assembly of passenger cars in full production form in order to increase the competitiveness of passenger cars produced in the country in the local and foreign markets.

As part of the work being carried out in this direction, in March 2018 official opening of a joint car production plant of Azermash and Iran Khodro (Khazar automobile plant owned by Azkron LLC) was held in the Neftchala Industrial Town with the participation of president Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Hassan Rouhani of Iran.

The decision says about concept of "industrial collection in the form of full production of passenger cars” and indicates that spare parts of the "Commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity", classified in the 40th, 70th, 83rd, 84th, 85th, 87th, 90th, 94th, 96th groups, are included in the set for industrial collection in the form of full production of passenger cars. The import duty rate for spare parts must be set as "0".
