April 8, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan increased electricity production by 3%. Generation of electricity in the country grew by 175.1 million kWh (2.57%) up to 6.967 bn kWh in the 1st quarter of 2020.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Energy that for the 1st quarter of 2020 electricity production on Azerenerji OJSC amounted to 6.295 bn kWh, on the State Energy Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic 83.6 million kWh, and on independent power plants 588.5 million kWh.

Electricity exports for the 1st quarter of 2020 amounted to 483.2 million kWh (fall by 29.9 million kWh versus Q1 of 2019). Electricity imports totaled 27 million kWh (decline of 14 million kWh against Q1 of 2019).
