11:48 - 15.05.2020

May 15, Fineko/abc.az. The State Motor Road Agency of Azerbaijan has launched the reconstruction with the purpose to expand parts of the Sabit Orujev, Nizami, Mehdi Mehdizadeh and The 28 May Streets in Baku and ensure the intersection of these streets with Yusif Safarov Street.

According to data ABC.AZ received from the Agency, as part of the reconstruction work, the steps were taken to remove the railway bridge located at the intersection of Mehdi Mehdizadeh and The 28 May Streets, which is no longer in use and leads to narrowing of the road.

As a result, traffic on this part of the street was expanded from two lanes up to four lanes, and the roadsides were improved. The section of Mehdi Mehdizadeh Street between the Yusif Safarov and The 28 May Streets, as well as the section of The 28 May Street between Mehdi Mehdizadeh and Kevkab Safaraliyeva Streets in a new and modern form were transferred to the use of citizens. At the last stage of the project a new junction of the Sabit Orujev, Nizami, Mehdi Mehdizadeh and The 28 May Streets will be created at the intersection with Yusif Safarov Street.
