June 1, Fineko/abc.az. In 2019 the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) withdrew 423 million banknotes for AZN 7.7 bn from circulation and issued 507 million banknotes for AZN 9.7 bn.

ABC.AZ reports that in general, last year the cash supply in circulation increased by 24.4% (AZN 2 bn or 83.7 million banknotes) and amounted to AZN 10.4 bn at the end of the reporting period. The CBA's strategic cash reserves amounted to AZN 19.6 bn at the end of 2019.

In 2019 the 10-manat banknotes (for AZN 400 million) and 1, 3 and 5-gapik coins (for AZN 1.7 million) were issued with an updated design and protection system, and the production process of banknotes with denominations of 1, 5 and 50 manats (for AZN 3.36 bn) continues.
