Deputy Minister: General and colonel became martyrs in Tovuz shootout

July 14, Fineko/abc.az. Deputy Defence Minister, Lt Gen Kerim Veliyev commented on the shelling of Tovuz by the Armenian army.

ABC.AZ reports that Veliyev noted that on the night of July 13-14, fierce fighting continued on the territory of Tovuz district, and in two days the enemy was dealt crushing blows: "Up to 100 units of manpower, a large number of military equipment and important enemy objects were destroyed. 

As a result of the fighting, the Azerbaijani army also suffered losses. In the morning, during the battle, Maj. Gen. Polad Gashimov and Col. Ilgar Mirzayev died heroically."
