First pilot freight train departed via railway route Astara (Iran) – Astara (Azerbaijan)

February 8, Fineko/abc.az. International railway line Astara (Azerbaijan) - Astara (Iran) will be put into operation in March.

Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) reports that the first pilot freight train has been commissioned today.

"The six-wagon train was sent from Russia to Iran. Currently, the cargo is transshipped at the terminal of Iranian Astara," ADY said.

The Astara-Astara railway line is a continuation of the Gazvin-Rasht railroad of international transport corridor North-South, which will connect the railway lines of Iran and Russia through Azerbaijan.
