Mikail Jabbarov about economic growth of Azerbaijan this year

15:22 - 10.11.2021

November 10, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s economic growth is expected to exceed 5% this year.

ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov made the relevant statement at today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.
According to Jabbarov, there are factors contributing to the acceleration of economic growth in the non-oil sector: "Over the first 9 months of 2021 the value added in the non-oil sector increased. In recent years the Azerbaijani government has been pursuing policy of developing industrial zones. With the exception of the construction sector, the cost growth is still in the negative zone."

The minister noted that significant investments have been made in country’s industrial zones in the last few years.
"To date, Azerbaijan has issued more than 510 investment promotion documents. As for public investments, substantial finances are stipulated in this direction in the initial draft budget for 2022. As a result of the President's personal initiative, the finances to be directed for this area have been increased. This will also have an impact on increasing the volume of investments," Jabbarov emphasized.
