15:16 - 26.11.2021

November 26, Fineko/abc.az. According to the latest October forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Georgia is expected to have the highest budget deficit in the CIS region (including Georgia and Ukraine) at the end of this year.

ABC.AZ reports that this year, Georgia's consolidated state budget is expected to have deficit of 6.5% of GDP. Although this indicator looks more optimistic than last year's 9.2% deficit, it is still the weakest in the region. The best budget balance this year is expected in Russia and Turkmenistan. It is expected that the budget deficit in Russia will make up 0.6% of GDP and in Turkmenistan 0.3%. Azerbaijan, which is Top 3 on this indicator, is expected to have total budget deficit of 1.8% of GDP this year.
