Azerbaijani President has received Russian Minister of Economic Development

April 23, Fineko/abc.az. Today Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin of Russia.

At the meeting, it was noted that relationships between the two countries are successfully developing in various spheres, including economic.

President Aliyev assessed growth of trade turnover last year, as well as the results of the 1st quarter of this year, as a good indicator of the expansion of bilateral economic links. The head of state emphasized that economic ties were strengthened as a result of joint activities of our countries and strengthening of cooperation between various enterprises. He also expressed confidence in further strengthening of economic relations.

Maxim Oreshkin handed over to the Azerbaijani President greetings from his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in connection with his convincing victory in the presidential election. He noted that the results of the elections are manifestation of people's support for political and economic course of President Ilham Aliyev, and stability in Azerbaijan is of great importance.

Oreshkin pointed out that even in the last few months after his last visit to Baku, a number of serious steps on economic cooperation have been taken.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation on international transport corridor North-South in the field of investment, agriculture, tourism and others.
