July 29, Fineko/abc.az. "Currently, there is no excitement in the foreign exchange market of Azerbaijan. Currency sales by the population exceed purchases," ABC.AZ reports, quoting CBA’s general director Togrul Aliyev.

"In the context of the fight against money laundering, restrictions on the sale of currency to citizens may be introduced in Azerbaijan in accordance with the internal control system. This approach is applicable not only to currency, but also to other operations. Banks, as well as other financial institutions and organizations, in accordance with international standards, as well as the legislation of the country, should improve internal control systems in the field of combating money laundering," he said.
