Eurozone inflation peaks in July

August 18, Fineko/abc.az. Annual inflation in the eurozone reached a record high of 8.9% in July due to rising energy prices, the European Statistical Office (Eurostat) said in its annual inflation data for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for July, ABC.AZ reports citing foreign media.

Therefore, annual inflation in the eurozone, which stood at 8.6% in June, rose to 8.9% in July, in line with expectations.

Annual inflation in the EU in July amounted to 9.8% against 9.6% in June.
In July last year, inflation was 2.2% in the eurozone and 2.5% in the EU.
So, inflation in the euro area in July was at the highest level measured in the last 25 years.
