September 2, Fineko/abc.az. The recent forest fires in Azerbaijan are primarily caused by the influence of global warming, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Emergencies Minister, Col-Gen Kemaleddin Heydarov, as saying this at a meeting at the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The minister stressed that in addition to the impact of global warming, the human factor remains the main cause of fires:
"The disdainful attitude and irresponsible behavior of some people towards simple fire safety rules lead to fires in forests that are our national heritage, damage to the forest fund, flora and fauna that have been formed for decades. Therefore, in order to prevent forest fires in a timely manner, it is important that all relevant authorities act in a coordinated way."
