September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Since 1 September Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has introduced tariff Economy Lite for online booking of air tickets via the Baku-Istanbul and Istanbul-Baku routes.

ABC.AZ reports that initially, it was noted that this tariff includes only hand luggage (weighing up to 10 kg and measuring up to 55x40x23 cm), the tariff is ideal for those who go on a short-term business trip.

However, by offering this tariff, AZAL has raised prices.

If in July 2022 a round-trip ticket at the lowest Economy Classic fare could be bought for 743 manats (departure on Saturday at 08:50, return on Monday at 23:25), today a round-trip ticket at the same fare can be bought for 776 manats. That is, the price has increased by 33 manats.

To distract attention from this price increase, AZAL introduced the Economy Lite minimum fare, at which a round-trip ticket can be purchased for 725 manats. And although the ticket cost is 18 manats, the passenger lost 23 kg of luggage, the possibility of returning the ticket and changing the flight date. While Economy Classic included a free hand luggage of 23 kg, the possibility of refund or exchange of the ticket.

Ticket prices may vary depending on the time of advance booking, day and time of flight, but the price increase is noticeable in most options.
