Russia offers Armenia to open roads with Azerbaijan

12:36 - 20.09.2022

September 20, Fineko/abc.az. The opening of roads and railways between Azerbaijan and Armenia will create conditions for the inflow of about $4.5-5 bn of Russian investments into the Armenian market

ABC.AZ reports that Russian Deputy PM Alexey Overchuk stated this at the IX Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum.

"We are confident that the unblocking of transport links in the region, stipulated by the trilateral agreements of our leaders, will open up new opportunities for Armenia's economic development and the influx of new investments here. According to our estimates, the opening of railways and highways between Armenia and Azerbaijan will create prerequisites for the inflow of about $4.5-5 bn of Russian investments to Armenia. We have an understanding of what these projects can be, we have been discussing them with our business for a long time," Overchuk said.
