September 26, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in circulation in the banking system at the end of August increased by 180,000 cards against the previous month to 12.609 million cards.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the CBA that compared with the same term of 2021, this indicator increased by 22.9%.

The growth of payment cards made up 22.4% for debit cards and 26.7% for credit cards.

Last August, the number of payment cards grew by 117,000, credit cards by 341,000, and other cards by 1.8 million.

The growth of payment cards has had positive impact on non-cash payments.

Thus, the non-cash transactions within the country increased 2.5-fold versus the same term of 2021.
