September 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Polish zloty (PLN) has fallen to a historic low against the US dollar (USD), ABC.AZ reports with a link to Tuesday-published data of portal businessinsider.com.pl. For the first time in history, US dollar is worth more than 5 zlotys.

For the first time in history, more than five zlotys are given for the dollar, while the exchange rate against the euro is higher and amounts to 4.78 zlotys. The USD/JPY exchange rate increased by 24%.

According to experts, weakening of the Polish currency was the result of the fall in the euro against the US dollar because of strong economic ties between Poland and the eurozone. For many years, the euro has been a stronger currency than the US dollar. However, in recent weeks, the euro has gone down amid rising inflation and the war in Ukraine.
