Tokayev: Oligarchic capitalism in Kazakhstan comes to end

12:39 - 5.10.2022

October 5, Fineko/abc.az. The era of oligarchic capitalism in Kazakhstan is coming to an end, and the period of social responsibility is approaching.

ABC.AZ reports that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made the relevant statement at the meeting with the residents of the Karaganda Oblast.

He underlined that the state closely monitors the activity of all large extracting enterprises operating in our country and will not allow illicit capital outflow from Kazakhstan.

Tokayev added that particular attention will be paid to the expansion of production and environmental protection issues, and tax payments will be under special control.

“If large industries do not comply with these requirements, we’ll have to terminate our partnership with them. This is by no means a threat, but simple, honest and fair rules of work, generally accepted throughout the civilized world,” he stressed.
