October 5, Fineko/abc.az. According to Visa, the indicator of contactless payments in public transport for the first time reached 1 billion in the world in 1 year.

ABC.AZ reports that one–touch contactless payment technology in transport - tap-to-ride allows passengers to use their existing card or mobile wallet to pay for travel.

A recent study by Visa Future of Urban Mobility Survey shows that 91% of passengers expect the possibility of contactless payment in transport, and almost a third called contactless payments the main function that encourages them to use public transport.

According to the study, the majority of public transport passengers (88%) say that eco­-friendliness and harm to the environment affect how often they use public transport, while the majority of employed passengers (62%) use public transport at least three days a week.
