October 14, Fineko/abc.az. Persons engaged in the automotive business in Azerbaijan began actively importing cars from Europe.

ABC.AZ reports that a recent study shows that, first of all, it is linked first of all with the weakening of the euro exchange rate in recent months.

Thus, car importers in Azerbaijan prefer to buy cars directly from Europe at comparatively low price, rather than heading to neighboring Georgia, whose land border is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Of course, speech is about used cars.

According to one of such importers of cars Teymuraz Nabiyev, it has now become cheaper to import cars from Europe than from the USA: "We used to bring cars with an engine up to 2000 cu cm from the USA. Since last year, there have been problems with logistics, costs have increased. That's why we started bringing cars only from Europe. The depreciation of the euro also had strong impact on prices. Previously, 1 euro was equal to 1.9 - 2 manats, and now the exchange rate is 1.6-1.7 manats. We mainly bring cars from Germany, Belgium and Poland. To do this, we do not cross the territory of Russia."
