Annual inflation rate in UK rose to 10.1% in September

October 19, Fineko/abc.az. Consumer prices in the UK jumped 10.1% year-on-year in September.

According to the UK National Statistical Office (ONS), the indicator returned to the July value, which was the highest in 40 years. Inflation accelerated compared to August, when it was 9.9%.

Consumer prices increased by 0.5% against last month.

Growth of inflationary pressure in the UK is linked mainly with higher prices for foods and utilities.

Prices excluding foods, alcohol, tobacco and energy (core inflation, core consumer price index) in September grew by 6.5% year-on-year and by 0.6% versus last month.
