October 24, Fineko/abc.az. The subsistence minimum for the Azerbaijani population in State Budget 2022 is set at 210 manats, for the able–bodied population 220 manats, for pensioners 176 manats, for children 193 manats.

So, let's see if it is possible to replenish the consumer basket by 210 manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to expert economist Rauf Garayev, that currently the price of 50 kg of flour on the market is 45-50 manats:

"Approx. 2.5 bags of flour a year are required for one person. If we count 50 manats each, we get 137 manats. That is, 1 manat per kg of flour. If we compare it with the price of bread on the market, then 380 g bread is sold for 50 gapiks. Thus, according to the consumer basket, it can be determined that a person needs at least 50 gapiks a day only for bread. This is for an able-bodied person. The norm for pensioners and children is lower. Moreover, the established minimum applies to all flour products, not just bread. The minimum wage is 300 manats. If you deduct taxes from 300 manats, you will get about 270 manats. 50 gapiks of this amount is spent daily on bread for one person.

If on average in 1 month – 30.4 days, it turns out that only 15 manats 20 gapiks per person are spent on bread. That leaves 254 manats. There are 54.80 kg of potatoes in the basket for an able-bodied person. The daily norm is 150 g. If we calculate at this price 4 kg 560 g of potatoes a month, at potato price of 80 gapik, then the cost of it is 3 manats 65 gapik a month. We subtract 254 manats, that leaves 251.15 manats."
