Rate of foreigners’ overnight stays in Azerbaijani hotels has increased

October 26, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee has published information about the tourism sector and hotels in the country.

ABC.AZ reports that the number of stays of foreigners and stateless persons increased 4.3-fold (against Jan-Sept 2021) up to 1,031,400.

This makes up 50.4% of the total number of stays. Of the total number of foreign tourists, 19.7% were citizens of Saudi Arabia, Russia - 11.2%, UAE - 10%, Turkey - 8.2%, Kuwait - 4.3%, Israel - 4.1%, India - 3.9%, USA - 3.4%, Great Britain - 3.1%, Pakistan - 2.3%, Kazakhstan - 1.6%, Qatar - 1.5%, Germany - 1.4%, Georgia - 1.1%, Italy - 1.1%, Iran - 1%, Oman - 0.9%, China - 0.7%, the Netherlands - 0.6%, Ukraine - 0.6%, other countries - 18.1%.

At that, foreigners and stateless persons spent 78.3% of overnight stays in Baku, in Gabala - 8.1%, in Guba - 4.4%, in Gusar - 3.6%, in Naftalan - 2.4%, in Shabran - 0.7%, in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - 0.5%, in other cities and districts - 2%.
