Kazakhstan plans to transport its oil via BTC

November 10, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan plans to start oil transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline from January 1, 2023.

ABC.AZ reports that Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smilov stated about this at a press conference.

He noted that a special program has been developed to diversify oil transportation to Kazakhstan.

"In particular, this direction is through the Aktau port to the port of Baku and from there in the direction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Baku-Supsa is also in Georgia and Baku-Batumi, where our terminal is located in the port. These directions, plus there is a direction by rail from Atyrau towards Batumi and towards Uzbekistan. And there is also the direction of the PRC. Work is currently underway on all these directions to expand and increase the potential for oil exports. As for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route, we have reached an agreement on the transportation of 1.5 million tons of oil from January 1, 2023," the PM said.
