November 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 10 months goods for AZN 40.4 bn were sold to consumers in Azerbaijan's retail chains (2.9% more against Jan-Oct 2021).

The State Statistics Committee reports that AZN 22.7 bn of them accounted for foods, beverages and tobacco products and AZN 17.7 bn for nonfoods. The total volume of goods sold increased in real terms by 2.2% and 3.6%, respectively, compared with Jan-Oct 2021.

For the past 10 months of 2022 the population spent 51.6% of funds in retail chains on food products, 4.6% - beverages and tobacco products, 14% - textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.7% - gasoline and diesel fuel, 5% - electrical goods and furniture, 2.2% - pharmaceutical and medical goods, 1% - computers, telecommunication equipment and printing products, 15.9% - other non-food products.

The retail turnover of enterprises in real terms increased by 3.4%, individuals by 2.1%, markets and fairs by 4.0%.

The sales of consumer goods in the retail chain per capita averaged 401.5 manats per month, including foods, beverages and tobacco products - 225.6 manats, non-food products - 175.9 manats.
