November 21, Fineko/abc.az. This year our economy will reach a record level. The forecast for the end of the year says that our economy will reach AZN 130 bn. This is a record figure.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani President, Chairman of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ilham Aliyev made this statement during his speech at an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of YAP.

"We’ve carried out deep economic reforms and the work done in this area over the past 19 years is obvious. Suffice it to say that our economy has grown more than 3 times since 2003," the president stressed.

The head of state noted that in 1993-2003 very solid foundations of our statehood were laid.

"In 1991-1993, the Azerbaijani people did not actually know what stability was. The creation of stability in such a situation became possible only thanks to the authority of Heydar Aliyev, his courage and the people's trust in him, and immediately after that foreign investments began to arrive. The famous Contract of the Century and subsequent work in the oil and gas sector created solid financial foundation at that time. The steps taken then and the decisions taken allow us today to pursue independent economic policy and assert ourselves in the international arena as an independent country," President Aliyev said.
