Banks increased demand by 54.74% at currency auction

November 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has held a currency auction with the participation of the State Oil Fund.

According to the CBA, $65.3 million was sold at the currency auction on 29 November, which is $23.1 million (54.74%) more than at the last auction. At the auction on 24 November, the CBA sold $42.2 million worth of currency to banks.

"The demand from banks at the currency auction amounted to $65.3 million and was fully secured," the CBA said in a statement.

As a result of the auction, the weighted average exchange rate of the manat was formed at the level of 1.7000 AZN/USD.

In November 2022, currencies worth $410.4 million were sold at currency auctions, which is 52% less than in November 2021.
