December 2, Fineko/abc.az. The production of Apple's iPhone 14 in 2022 may decrease by 16 million smartphones against early forecasts amid the introduction of coronavirus quarantine measures in the city of Zhengzhou, where such phones are manufactured.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to analysts of largest Swiss bank UBS.

According to experts, 76 million iPhone 14 smartphones will be produced in the 2nd half of 2022, although a higher figure was previously called - 92 million. Thus, analysts predict that iPhone production will decrease by 20% compared to 2021.

The bank believes that the decline in production will occur due to problems at Foxconn in Zhengzhou, where the world's largest iPhone assembly plant is located. On November 24, the city authorities announced the introduction of lockdown amid an increase in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection. On November 30, the restrictions were lifted.
