Azerbaijan to increase 10-fold rice imports from Pakistan

December 2, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Chamber of Economic Cooperation (PAKAZCHAM) Khurram Javid Bhatti announced plans of Pakistani companies to increase rice supplies to Azerbaijan almost by 10 times.

ABC.AZ reports that increase in supplies is planned after Azerbaijani side’s decision to abolish customs duties on rice imported from Pakistan.

"Currently, we are striving to increase much rice imports from Pakistan to Azerbaijan and reach the figure of $25-30 million in 2023 against the $3-4 million we have now," Bhatti stated.

He noted that Pakistani companies’ interest in supplying rice to Azerbaijan.

"We’ll work over this," Bhatti said.
