President issues an order in connection with declaration of Shusha as Cultural Capital of Turkic world for 2023

December 6, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on measures to declare the city of Shusha the Cultural Capital of the Turkic world for 2023. 

ABC.AZ reports that on 31 March 2022, Shusha (the cultural capital of Azerbaijan) was declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2023 at an extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the member countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) in the city of Bursa of Turkiye.

This decision, as a manifestation of special respect for Shusha, a bright pearl of architecture and urban art with 270-year history and having high cultural and spiritual value for the Azerbaijani people, will become a new symbol of unity and solidarity of the entire Turkic world and will contribute to the further expansion of prospects for cooperation between the Turkic peoples.

The order tasks the Cabinet Ministers to develop and implement an action plan to declare the city of Shusha the Cultural Capital of the Turkic world for 2023 and to resolve other issues arising from the order.
