December 6, Fineko/abc.az. Budapest and Bratislava are considering the possibility of expanding the capacity of the gas pipeline between the two countries.

ABC.AZ reports that Hungarian FM Peter Szijjarto said this on 5 December after talks with his Slovakian counterpart Rastislav Kachar.

"The connection of gas pipelines has created an important point on the North-South transit route, and Hungary is ready to increase the capacity of its interconnector to Slovakia from the current 1.75 bn cu m a year up to 5.2 bn cu m," he said.

The minister added that the connection of their power grids should play large role in strengthening the energy security of the two states. He underlined that it was "a very good strategic decision".
