Expert: Azerbaijan needs to invest more in gas production

December 7, Fineko/abc.az. Additional investments are needed to increase the export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

ABC.AZ reports that Cyril Widdershoven, co-owner of Dutch consulting company VEROCA and an expert on political risks & energy issues, stated about this.

In his opinion, given the existing potential, it is necessary to invest more in gas production in Azerbaijan.
"It is impossible to meet the growing demand of Europeans without additional investments in upstream. The matter of expanding the gas pipeline network from Azerbaijan to the EU should be resolved. In addition, LNG export terminals could be created in third countries with access to the Mediterranean Sea," the expert said.
