Number and salary of employees increased in Azerbaijan

June 11, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 May the number of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 1.2% up to 1.538 million people.

The State Statistics Committee reports that 887,200 of them work in the public and 651,000 people in the private sector.

"Over Jan-Apr of 2018 the average monthly salary of employees increased by 3.5% up to AZN 538.8. The highest salary is paid to employees in the field of extractive industry, finance and insurance, science and technical activities, information & communications, transport and storage facilities, and construction," it was reported.
