CBA: Value of circulating notes increased by AZN 660 million

December 16, Fineko/abc.az. Monetary conditions continue to have restraining effect on inflation.

ABC.AZ reports that such a statement was distributed by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

"The rise in the nominal effective exchange rate of the manat continues to be one of the important factors limiting inflationary pressure. Over the past 11 months, the rate of strengthening of the nominal effective exchange rate was 7.9%. The expansion of sterilization operations limits the growth of the money supply and thereby reduces inflationary pressure. For Jan-Nov, the monetary base in manats grew by 7.3%. In December, the monetary base will be mainly affected by fiscal operations.

Placement of CBA notes of various terms (1, 3, 6, 9 months) allows you to form an adequate yield curve. In October-November, the value of notes in circulation increased by AZN 660 million or 2.3-fold. The number of banks participating in note auctions is growing. During the period, transactions for AZN 194 million were made in the second segment of the notes market," the CBA statement says.
